What can you expect on one of our quilt retreats?
We have been running workshops and retreats for several years. It all began with a new sewing machine. I have sewn since I can remember and I had my own machine from being around 9 years old. As a teenager I regularly came home from school to face 4 metres of fabric and my Mum demanding a new dress for the next day!
My new machine came with a quilting kit and as I had never done patchwork, I decided that I had better have a go. I ordered fabric from the internet and a book by Alex Anderson called Start Quilting. I soon had my first patchwork top made and quilted and although my colour scheme left a lot to be desired, I was hooked. This quilt now hangs on our second floor as a reminder of where it all began.

My husband Tim grew up with Susan Briscoe and Susan had mentioned before to us about holding quilting retreats here. As my interest grew she encouraged me to get a group together and she would come and stay. Everyone enjoyed the three days so much that they asked for more and who else could we get.
Since then word of our fantastic retreats has spread far and wide. We have students from all over the UK plus Europe.
So what can you expect on one of our quilting retreats .......Great food is probably one of the first thing our regulars will tell you, followed by homemade cakes & biscuits, sparkling clean, comfy hotel accommodation, great company, light airy & comfy sewing space, fabulous tuition, lots of fun, a great location, great value, lovely walks on the beach, reasonable price shops, great fabric shops locally....the list is endless. Why not come along and find out for yourself?
